Disclaimer: This video is from an open help session with student to work through some of the problems they are encountering making advanced Revit Families. I stumble a bit with some of these models but it was meant to be a trial and error session. The intention was for students to get a sense of how we can trouble shoot some of the issues Revit throws back at us.

Software : Revit Architecture

Level : Intermediate / Advanced

Description : This group is building a parametric auditorium. In this session we are trying to figure out the best way to drive the seating arrangement from the floor angle. Also we are looking at the best way to control the massing.

David, I know how did you feel for about first 8 or so minutes :)
Revit is cool, but sometimes has a strange behavior.
I studied this problem and came to conclusion that you have to make parameters to those ref planes (not only a dimension!)in order to revit do that “magic”. Change values in Types and it will work… But… it does NOT work in mass template!
