Description : This Revit 2009 video tutorial covers how to add parameters for scheduling and tagging. In this case the objects being scheduled are parking spaces. The problem was that by default Revit is able to schedule the “count” of objects. In this case I wanted to schedule stacker parking which meant every parking component equaled 2 spaces. In order to schedule the number of spaces, a shared parameter is added which looks for a yes/no parameter stating whether or not the component is a stacker. This is done by adding a conditional statement which looks to see if the family is a stacker based on the yes/no check box. The techniques in this example can be easily transfered to any family type with in Revit. This same logic can apply to estimating techniques, I hope to cover quantity extraction a bit more in the weeks to come.
Topics Covered
-Making shared parameters
-Scheduling shared parameters
-Tagging shared parameters
-Scheduling with conditional statements
-Controlling visibility with parameters
-Controlling multiple object with one parameter
great tutorial
Thanks, I hope to do a few more tutorials about conditional statements in Revit. Glad it helped
Why am I not seeing the video tutorials? I have looked at some of them as recently as last week, but am unable to view them now. I clicked on the “Get the Flash Player to see this player” button and downloaded Flash 9,0,124,0… What gives? I miss me some Revit tutelage.
Thanks for the heads up. I did an upgrade on wordpress today and i guess the flash player freaked out. It has been fixed. Thank you so much for letting me know.
Best,
Dave
