3ds Max - Cross Section Modifier

Modifier : Cross Section
Works on: Splines

3ds Max Description : The CrossSection modifier creates a “skin” across multiple splines. It works by connecting the vertices of 3D splines to form a skin. The resulting object is another spline object that can be used with the Surface modifier to create a patch surface. These two modifiers, when used together, are sometimes referred to collectively as “Surface Tools.”

hi, first of all thank for the free tutorials on the web!
my question is, can it be modify the order of the splines? i know you
can order the vertices but once you attach the splines can it be re order?
because im modeling a shoe and when i add another spline the cross seccion takes the
last one as first and no as a last spline..ive allready tryed detaching all the lines and attaching
them again but still wrong order..
    thank a lot

great quick tutorial on cross section, helped me out a lot.
One quick question tho, what if I wanted to cut a hole in the “spline” wireframe…can I spline it into the geometry? Like if I wanted to spline a dish with a hole in it, can I do it with just splines?

    Thanks.

I’ve imported several cross section shapes from AutoCAD and the vertices come randomly ordered, thus resulting in non logical connections between them. Is there a way to renumber the vertices?
