RRevit Architecture Tags

Description : This Revit Architecture 2009 video tutorial covers how to use tags as drivers for parameters rather than just for display.  The idea here is to use “working tags”. The Tags can easily be cleaned up for display on working drawings later, the intent here is to avoid having to go to the properties of an object to change parameters.   Here is a link to the source files on the forum.

Topics Covered
-Creating shared parameters
-Creating a generic tags
-Tagging shared parameters
-Using tags to modify parameters

Excellent tutorial. Thank You. I am still not happy with shared parameters though. They should be called “shared parameter definitions” for a start. Then comes the hard question: Why are they neccessary? Why isn’t a project aware of ANY type parameter that has been loaded. I am still missing something.

Wow! Great tutorial. I am getting a much better handle on families and the power of parameters.

    Hello,
Thanks for the tutorial. Is it possible to add the label as part of the family so that the shared parameter is available the same way temporary dimensions are when the object is selected.
