Auburn University
From Steve on the CASE blog
We were recently made aware of the Master of Design-Build program at Auburn University. This interdisciplinary program, a collaboration between The School of Architecture & The McWhorter School of Building Science, “seeks graduate students from the design, engineering and construction disciplines who will embrace teamwork, collaboration, and empathy between the differing roles and responsibilities of their counterparts. The program will foster an integrated delivery of projects in the built environment, leveraging the most current strategies in project development, risk analysis and digital tools.”
We couldn’t have described the future of building design education more concisely.
For anyone considering a return to school to gain new knowledge during the economic downturn, this sounds like the place to go. Having graduated from a land-grant university myself, I anticipated that it was only a matter of time before one of these schools started a new program that would foster this type of innovation and it’s great to see Auburn leading the way.
The admissions deadline for the three semester program, starting this Fall, is March 1. Find out more here.
