Topics Covered:

  • Add Edge
  • Add Profile
  • Faceting Geometry
  • Face Based Constraints

    hello david,,thanks for the tutorial..
can v map geometry to a curved surface in revit 2010…just like using surface deform modifier in 3ds max…(ex : beijing olympic stadium)…

Very cool indeed. This is a huge improvement over creating masses in 2009. It cuts down a huge amount with how many times you have to click the edit button. Which was if you wanted to edit a sweep you have to click edit like 4 times in order to get to your profile.
I just wish they would have incorporated these modeling techniques into family and in-place family creation.

Thank you for the tutorial it has been usefull to me as all info in your site. I made a water cistern and when I load into project it places shape on the side. Is there a way to fix this. I tried puting it on the axis on plan view and loading it again but it still went off. How can I assign the materials property of object.Thaks

Hi there’s the possibility to have the profile added in other direction not only in Z axys??
    thanks

How do you add a profile at a specific dimension away from something (such as the bottom)? It seems like you just pick something at random.

    Thanks for that, very helpful.

Can you do linework on a conceptual mass so that when I bring it into my project I can pick them as separate faces for the “wall by face tool?”

    Thanks
But how to you add an edge to the top of the “tower” you made (or just do that whole operation on a horisontal form instead of vertical.) And how do you remove and edge? And how d oyou add an edge to and egde. revit will not let me do any of the above.

How do remove an edge that you don’t want? I’ve manipulated the mass far beyond pressing undo to remove the edge.

Can you bring in a profile that you have saved? I have a profile saved using the profile template.
