Note: For Meshing class but as always all are welcomed to use these videos. Just a warning since the tone is a bit different from the other videos.
Description :In this Grasshopper video tutorial we create (I hate to say it) a twisting tower. I know there is one on the site already but this one is done differently. We use a series of to array the profiles up. Then we control the twist numerically rather than with curves in the scene. Then we use Graph Mapper to adjust the rotation
Topics Covered:
Dear david ,
can you change the floor heights according to a custom control curve so you have a variation of floor heights throughout the tower controlled by a curve or multiple curves rather than a graph mapper bezier curve for example.
David,
Is there a way to use polygons instead of an ellipse for the base shape (that you know of)? Or how about putting “walls” in to connect the segments of the tower? I couldn’t seem to get loft to work, but maybe I just wasn’t doing it right.
Thanks!
If say I wanted to group that geometry and then do a similar operation onto that group. How would you do this? - I have tried to use the Brep Join but it still reads the individual geometry, it’s not being read like a group.
IE. i have a series of curves to which I have applied a series of transformations & xforms etc. Now I want to apply xforms to the whole series as a group..ie. 20 rotated circles - into 10 series of those 20 rotated circles, each series rotation those 20 circles the same value at a time.
Hope that made sense,
Can anyone help?,
Cheers,
P
