Software : CATIA / Digital Project
Description : In this CATIA / Digital Project video we will use an Ordered Geometrical Set with nested Bodies to define a PowerCopy. We will then use the PowerCopy Instantiator by Geometrical Sets script to automate the instantiation of the PowerCopy. Finally, we will delete elements, make updates to the model and re-run the script to update our model based on additional inputs. This is the third and final video of the series.
Topics Covered:
I’m glad you were able to use my Powercopy Instantiator script. It really comes in handy when you use “Iterate” options, because then you can make n-dimensional (with a max of 10) recursive assemblies. (i.e. you can make a curtainwall, where the east-west direction is one geometrical set of driver planes, and the up-down direction is another geometrical set of level planes.) This can work for the depth of the skin as well, or any other imaginative combination you can think of.
Hey Nick,
Good to hear from you… thanks for the comment and VERY useful script! I’d be happy to post additional videos on the iterator script. If you have videos or an example that clearly demonstrates the iterate options described above send them our way.
