Autodesk Revit 2010 – Parametric Louver System Part 2
Software: Autodesk Revit Architecture 2010
Description: In this Autodesk Revit Architecture 2010 video tutorial, we will create a line based family to host the louver family. This louver system will be embedded in a curtain wall family by arraying generic model component family that is within a lined based family. From there we’ll create shared parameters to drive the model from a schedule. This is the first of a series of videos that will explain the the process of creating parametric families within Revit.

Great Tutorial! thanks))
i’m trying to do a louver in the horizontal direction and i tried doing it exactly how you did it, only in the opposite direction and when i go to change the width of the louver, they don’t lineup straight up and down, they kind of splay out a few inches from the one below it, its pretty strange. any clue what im doing wrong?
Hi,
One of the best tutorials I’ve seen, thanks.
Am doing a louver window, louvers are horizontal, and angled 45 degrees to shield from sun/rain. How do you constrain the array end - with the rectangular louver profile at an angle to ref planes the align tool can’t grab onto anything.
Thanks,
Fred
Awesome tutorial - it was so helpful!
Hello,
When I get to assign the label ‘number of Louvres to the Array it keeps crashing. Any clues anyone? I have followed the other tutorials here on Revit and i have to say they are a great help. Your understanding or the parmetric control is deep and impressive. Thanks for your help in the past.
Best, Paul
I have the same question as Jonathan.
I tried to make a louver system parameter for depth in the same way, but the louvers splay out from the reference line. What’s the way to go about this?
You have to make sure everything is aligned & locked properly. i think thats why i was having trouble. i think i have the louver family if you want to see it.
