This is in no way a farse. I saw this myself and it’s pretty amazing! Ian wrote a custom exporter for Revit to break the model down into smaller chunks the iPhone could handle. It’s still only working on his phone but with a little more work he may be ready to launch for Alpha/Beta soon.
Hi All
I just wanted to let you know about this new program I have been using to make my screen capture videos. It’s call CamStudio. It’s FREE, easy to use and awesome! It lacks the editing capabilities of Camtasia but you can do that plenty of other ways. If anyone has some videos they would like [...]
Santiago posted this on the forum yesterday and said

This is pretty amazing technology. I would say it’s a mix of Alias Sketch Book Pro & Studio Tools. You are basically drawing 3d curves as if you were drawing freehand on a tablet. The gesture UI is also pretty amazing.
With Geomagic Studio, you can digitally reconstruct an infinite variety of complex real world shapes more quickly and easily than ever before.

For anyone that has not used this plugin before you HAVE to check this out. I tend to abuse 3ds Max pretty well but this plugin really advances the modeling capabilities of 3ds Max. Also if you find your self saying “I wish max could do this,” PolyBoost probably has it.
Similarly to what I’m doing to software, I’m going to build a list of various fabrication techniques on this blog. The first one I’m focusing on is FDM, or Fusion Deposition Modeling.
VRMesh is a program I found while I was in school. I was looking for a way to re-triangulate a mesh that I had produced in Maya. The software is pretty light weight and inexpensive. It also has some interesting modeling features similar to Zbrush or Silo.
ShipConstructor is the dominant AutoCAD-based 3D product modeling and production planning software for the marine industry. ShipConstructor 2006 marries AutoCAD’s ease-of-drafting with the logical powers of a sleek SQL Server database design.
TopMod 2.223 is out and seems to be a pretty cool program. Here is some information for you all to check it out.
