Hello Dave. Oh this is a great tutorial. I made all this on my desktop.BUT i have some questions :
1.Walls that i made in Revit I cant split, cut, trim ? How to make some peace of this complex geometry with glass?
2. In facade i dont see all geometry of complex walls?
There is my work:
This is my diploma in university.I made it like you sad in your tutorial.
Thanks for answers.

Dear all,
I would like to contribute to this discussion
on the use of mass to drive the general geometry
of a building.
I would like to discuss the possibility of
interaction between the mass and the grid lines.
I am generally used to drive the structural frame
through the use of grids, combined with reference
planes.
I like the possibility to make adjustments to the
whole frame with few operations, as it is possible
to just make a variation on dimensions to get everything
adjust with it (wall and windows as well).
So I tried to make grid lines interact with the mass geometry.
I am not having a big success, because once constrained
the grid line to be coincident with the mass, I am no longer
able to make the mass be changed through its own parameters.
As an example, I did a simple mass of a building with a facade moved
by an angle, stored as type parameter. I called both
the file and the family Coderch, since it could remind
a building in Barcelona by him.
The file also has the problem of disappearing grid lines,
already discussed by David Fano in a tutorial, but I got rid
of it in this case, considering only the ground floor as working
in relation with the grid lines.
So I am wondering if you have any tip for this kind of problem,
I attach all the files, included two images of plan and 3d view
of "Coderch".

It's on the blog portion of this site (there is no link back to it
) sorry about that.
Here you go :

I always figured people only got the forum from the blog. I need to add a few links back.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi,
I've been having some issues with importing rhino based nurbs surfaces into revit and wondered if there may be anyone able to comment on a file i have generated in rhino and it's reciprocal revit family. I've followed through the tutorial mentioned on your site and it is the same process as i normally use.
Up until now i have been modeling in 3dsmax and only using rhino to save the file as a .sat
But i am now modelling intirely in rhino and having issues with applying wall by face.
Its a simple lofted surface based on ellipses but revit seems unable to work with it.
any comments would be greatly appreciated.
regards
calum
